Seattle Home Studies provides qualified, professional home study services to individuals and families planning to adopt domestically, who reside in the state of Washington. You may be interested in this program if you are looking for a less expensive, less complicated, personally-tailored way to complete this important step in your adoption process. All home studies are carried out by Claire Greenhill, MS, LMHC, a therapist in private practice in the Seattle area with several years' experience in adoption work. What is a home study?
A home study is an in-depth family interview designed to help families move through the adoption process. On the one hand, it's simply a legal requirement that every family must complete if they want to adopt. On the other hand, it's an interesting way to learn more about yourself and each other (if you are adopting as a couple) as you make your way through the adoption process.
Who should apply for a home study with Seattle Home Studies?
Any person or persons living in Washington State who have already made the decision to move forward with a domestic adoption plan. If you are working independently, with an attorney or with an out-of-state agency on domestic, relative (such as a step-child or grandchild) or "identified" (a child you already know) adoption, then I may be able to provide your home study.
